This historic 1891 brick building had been damaged by a fire before new owners undertook a complete restoration. Design work was carried out under the aegis of the U. S. National Park Service—the building is the recipient of a Maine Preservation Honor Award. The Shepherd Block now serves as a focal point in the center of Rockport and is the home for Maine Media Workshops and Bay Chamber Concerts as well as the location of a popular restaurant. |
